I chose this picture because it reminds me of the genealogy of my family that my dad studies.  So far he’s been able to date past the Civil War era by a few decades, but he sends me information about all of the new ancestors he finds.  Some of them fought in the Civil War not only for the Confederacy but for the Union as well.  This picture reminds us that during this time period, entire families could be turned on each other.  On top of it, this picture truly captures the destruction capability humans have.  We are so quick to take the lives of others and destroy everything in our paths with no concerns for the future or our actions.  It’s scary to think we still do this in other countries and that some day it may occur again in our own.
