Severn Eaton

I am not entirely sure how to interpret this piece. I love how the person in the painting has elevated themself on a platform in order to paint the sky and moon high up. Some climbing vine plants followed them up to the top and even wrapped around the person’s leg, perhaps securing them to the platform or to illustrate that the person has been sitting there for a long time. Im not sure what Eaton is trying to convey by the platform’s “nothing at all”; maybe existential thought that all circles back to the notion that nothing is real or permentant in the grnad scheme of life.
